January 20, 2008: Zachary has been named a finalist in the Young New Yorkers' Chorus 2007 Composer Competition.
March 30, 2008: read a review of the Pacific Chorale's premiere of Zachary's choral work, Fantasy on a Theme of William Billings.
November 16, 2007: Zachary won the 2007 ASCAP / Lotte Lehmann Foundation Art Song Competition. He has been awarded a commission to write a song cycle which will be published by E.C. Schirmer and premiered in three cities.
