from the article "Pacific Chorale Artfully Blends Old and New" (March 30, 2008)
"The program, mostly sacred works, reached across several centuries and a dozen styles. On the evening's agenda: two world premieres, William Billings rough-hewn Revolutionary War era "Chester," William Schuman's "Prelude for Voices," plus the usual mugs (Copland, Ives, Bernstein) ...
The two premieres were the result of the chorale's Young Composer's Competition. Zachary Wadsworth's multitextured "Fantasy on a Theme of William Billings" paid respectful tribute to the source material, while offering its own meditative and languid commentary. Michael Eglin's "Barter," with text from Sara Teasdale, flowed along elegantly. His work sounded organic and fluid, the emotional content matched well with the melancholic text."
