The Emmanuel Choir offers a candlelit service of Nine Lessons and Carols for Christmas, in the tradition made world-famous by the choir of King’s College, Cambridge. Hear the story of Christ’s birth retold through timeless biblical readings and choral responses by Herbert Howells, James Burton, and Zachary Wadsworth (“Gabriel’s Message”) among others. Christopher Jacobson, former organist of Duke Chapel and Washington National Cathedral, performs a holiday organ recital at 6:30 p.m., preceding the 7:00 p.m. liturgy.
